Why Reinstalling GTA 5 is Useless
As the title states, reinstalling GTA 5, or a mod, to fix issues is generally a total waste of time. It's also terribly bad advice because it rarely fixes infinite loads or crashes. Similarly most error messages are fairly useless, rightly or wrongly stating that files are corrupt.
So what do you need to do? A verify integrity is all you need to do if you suspect game files to have been corrupted. Note that a verify integrity, or a full reinstall, will not fix a corrupt save game. If you suspect issue is with save game, backup your current ones and move them out of the folder. Then start a new game.

IMPORTANT: If you do go ahead and reinstall, make sure it's a clean reinstall. Clean means wiping all the GTA V files in the installation folder but also the files in the Rockstar Documents folder. The reason behind this is that not all files will be replaced. For example if you have improper settings or a corrupt save game file these will not be replaced by a reinstall. In either case, reinstall, verify integrity, or fix it using our guides, do backups first.
