GTA 5 Still Crashing After Update?
If after the latest Rockstar GTA 5 update you still can't get the game to work properly with mods installed, try this simple process as a last resort before trashing your rig and bedroom. This is for users who have faithfully followed the Fix game after a GTA5 Patch how-to guide and are still aggravated with either infinite loops at load or a quick crash. It's a conservative but proven approach, which means it takes time and patience. But you will get results.
Simply updating ScriptHook5 with a new gameconfig.xml is not a magic solution.
After updates, all mods can potentially stop working or cause issues. They might be outdated or they might conflict with new DLC or just changes to the game engine or other vanilla game components.
Remember that it's mods that are keeping your game from working and it's much easier to determine which one, or ones, are causing issues when you install one at a time and then test. It's much harder when you have 1,000 mods installed to figure out which one of the 1,000 is problematic. Slow and steady wins the race.

For Step 7 (addons) and Step 8 (scripts), and mods in general, if you are still experiencing infinite load screens or quick crashes, try testing with different mods. Mods might be broken after an update.
Note: you should reboot your PC after following a few steps to ensure memory is properly cleared and available. Finally, remember that constant crashes may corrupt your save game file, so delete and start new game if you suspect this. Also note that error messages are often useless, wrong, or misleading, but log files don't lie. So check your log files in the game installation folder.
If this approach doesn't work, you should seriously question your hardware and software and also whether you want to continue modding GTA5.
